Niacin (vitamin B3, or nicotinamide, or nicotinic acid, or after the systematic name pyridine-3-carboxylic acid) is a vitamin from group of B vitamins. It is also called vitamin PP, from English pellagra preventer, "pellagra forewarning ".

Niacin is vital for our body to be healthy for a longer period of time . It is also a good adjuvant against aging and the appearance of signs of aging and helps the genetic processes of cells in the body. Regulates blood sugar levels and fights cholesterol, Alzheimer's disease.
The presence of niacin – symptoms
The lack of niacin can manifest itself as follows:
- Gastrointestinal disorders: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, glossitis, enteritis, stomatitis
- Skin disorders: dermatitis, rough skin, painful erythema
- Nervous disorders: insomnia, depression, anxiety, memory impairment, sensory impairment, dementia, headaches
The states of niacin deficiency are manifested by pellagra. These may be due to:
- food deficiency of nicotinic acid (primary pellagra)
- metabolic disorders, which can lead to preventing the formation of appropriate coenzymes
- excessive urinary loss of nicotinic acid (secondary pellagra?)
